Working of the FRP Cooling Tower

Fill Material : Inside the cooling tower, there are layers of fill material, which are typically made of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) or other plastic materials. The fill material provides a large surface area for water to spread out, allowing for increased contact with the air.

Airflow : Simultaneously, air is drawn into the cooling tower through the fans located at the top or sides. The fans create an upward draft, causing the air to move through the fill material. As the air passes through the fill, it comes into direct contact with the water, facilitating the transfer of heat from the water to the air.

Heat Transfer : Heat transfer occurs through two main mechanisms: evaporation and convection. As the hot water cascades over the fill material, a portion of it evaporates due to the contact with the air. This evaporation process absorbs heat from the remaining water, lowering its temperature.
